However, you can save some money by going with Ubuntu Linux, which is open-source and comes with a wide variety of free software.( Additional Details ) Windows XP We recommend this operating system for users are experienced with XP and would prefer remaining with a familiar software setup. It is an older operating system, but it remains compatible with most of today's programs and hardware, and it has benefited from years of upgrades and bug fixes.
Windows 7 We recommend this operating system for most users purchasing new computers. It is the most reliable of the choices and is compatible with most of today's hardware and software
Ubuntu Linux This is a free operating system designed by programmers collaborating with each other worldwide, and it comes with many pieces of free software. It works much differently from Windows, so we recommend requesting this only if you are already knowledgeable with Linux, or you are willing to take time to learn. Also, it is not compatible with as many programs or pieces of hardware as Windows.
